As part of his visit to Azerbaijan for the 13th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA), Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre honoured the memory of Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Haydar Aliyev, by visiting his grave.
Upon his arrival, Töre, along with other visiting parliamentary heads and representatives, was greeted by Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan.
The delegation paid their respects at Aliyev’s tomb and then proceeded to Martyrs’ Lane, where they laid carnations on the graves of those who fell in Azerbaijan’s national struggle.
Following this, Töre, accompanied by the parliamentary speakers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, visited the Eternal Flame Memorial.
Later, Töre, along with the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş, visited the Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery in Baku.
They laid carnations and recited prayers at the graves.
Speaker Zorlu Töre is expected to attend the TÜRKPA General Assembly at the National Assembly of Azerbaijan today, where he will deliver a speech on behalf of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
