Tatar: Pharmacists are a vital pillar of healthcare

On the occasion of 14 May Pharmacy Day, President Ersin Tatar issued a message highlighting the indispensable role of pharmacists in delivering essential healthcare services and contributing to the economy.

In his message, President Ersin Tatar emphasized that pharmacy, as a profession devoted to the production and distribution of medicine and to the well-being of humanity, is one of the most vital components of both the healthcare system and the health industry.

He noted that pharmacists, by dedicating themselves to this profession, carry significant responsibility in safeguarding and improving public health. Tatar also acknowledged that pharmacy is not only essential in the healthcare sector but also represents a major field within the economy.

He affirmed that the state will continue working diligently with stakeholders to improve the working conditions of pharmacists, recognizing their importance in both human life and economic development.

Recalling that May 14 marks the anniversary of the founding of Türkiye’s first academic pharmacy school, Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Adliye-i Şahane, Tatar concluded by extending his congratulations to all dedicated and selfless pharmacists on the occasion of Pharmacy Day.
