President Ersin Tatar calls on the European Union to stop being a Greek Cypriot Hostage
President Ersin Tatar emphasized once again that the results of the EU Council summit highlight the fact that the EU cannot be impartial, stating, “The EU is surrendering to the Greek Cypriot side.”
President Tatar made a statement regarding the Summit Results of the European Union Council on the Cyprus announced on April 17th.
“The expressions regarding the Cyprus issue in the Summit Results of the European Union Council regarding Ukraine, the Middle East, and Turkey announced on April 17 once again highlight the fact that the EU cannot be impartial’’ Mr Tatar said.
President Tatar also reitterated that there will be no process on the consumed ground from which the Turkish Cypriot side has withdrawn its consent, and the Turkish Cypriot side will not engage in an exercise that has already been proven unsuccessful.
The President also demanded a confirmation of the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriots once again in order for a process to begin.
” We call on the EU to stop being a hostage to the Greek Cypriot side and to implement the decision it took with a Council decision 20 years ago to lift the inhuman isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriot People.” President Tatar continued.
