On Friday, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius over inland and 32 degrees Celsius over the highest mountainous areas, a yellow warning issued by the Department of Meteorology on Thursday afternoon reads.
The yellow warning is valid from 13:00 until 17:00 on Friday.
Moreover, on Friday the risk of forest fires breaking out and spreading will remain at the “Red Alert” level, the Department of Forests says in a press release.
The Department strongly urges the public to be particularly careful, completely avoiding actions and activities that may cause a fire.
In the event of smoke or fire, the public is asked to immediately call 1407 (Department of Forests) or 112 (Fire Department).
