The third “Birkan Uzun Summit Run” will take place on Sunday, February 23, in memory of Birkan Uzun.
According to a statement from the Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality (LAÇ), the event will start from Selvili Tepe, which bears Birkan Uzun’s name. Participants will complete a 15-kilometer course, finishing the race at Kozan Picnic Area.
The event is organized under the main sponsorship of LAÇ Municipality and in collaboration with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Athletics Federation.
The statement emphasized that the race is not just a sports event but also a way to honor Birkan Uzun’s memory and share his inspiring story with a wider audience. It also recalled that Uzun embarked on a mission to climb the highest peaks in the world and most recently reached the Vinson Massif in Antarctica.
