The groundbreaking ceremony for the cloverleaf interchange to be constructed at the intersection of the Nicosia North Ring Road and the Nicosia-Girne Highway was held with the participation of Turkish Republic Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. The ceremony began with the national anthem and a moment of silence, followed by speeches from General Director of Roads Ahmet Gülşen, Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and President Ersin Tatar.
In his speech, Ahmet Gülşen mentioned that the Nicosia North Ring Road project, which is planned to be 20 km long, is currently under construction for a 4.6 km section. He provided technical details about the project and emphasized the goal of alleviating city traffic with the construction of ring roads. Gülşen expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Minister Erhan Arıklı, Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, and everyone who has supported and contributed to the project. He concluded his speech by hoping that the Ring Road will soon be open to the public.
