
The expanded informal Cyprus meeting hosted by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Geneva will take place on March 17-18.
Guterres’ invitation letter regarding the meeting has been received by President Ersin Tatar.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has sent an official invitation letter to President Ersin Tatar for the Cyprus meeting in Geneva.
In response to a question from a TAK correspondent, President Tatar stated that the UN Secretary-General’s invitation for the expanded informal meeting in Geneva reached him on Tuesday afternoon.
“In his invitation letter, Mr. Guterres shared the finalized details of the meeting program so far, stating that the informal meeting will begin with a dinner on March 17, followed by bilateral meetings on the morning of March 18, and will conclude in the afternoon with the expanded format meeting at the UN headquarters in Geneva. I would also like to note that he confirmed these details with us before sending the invitation” Tatar said.
President Tatar added that the UN Secretary-General mentioned they would share the finalized detailed program with the parties once it is clarified.
In his statement, Tatar also noted that he will receive the UK Minister of State responsible for Europe and North America, Stephen Doughty, on Friday.
