An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded off the coast of Cyprus, the Geological Survey Department’s Seismological Centre reported.
The tremor occurred at 2353 local time on Thursday at a depth of 20 kilometres in waters southeast of Larnaca.
The earthquake was strongly felt in the Larnaca district and was lightly felt across the rest of Cyprus, according to the department.
