The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly, Zorlu Töre will be travelling to Baku this evening (Tuesday) to participate in the 13th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA).
The General Assembly, hosted by the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, will focus on the theme “Green Horizons for the Turkic World: The Role of Parliaments in Realizing the Green Agenda.” Prominent participants include parliamentary leaders from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
Invited by Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Töre will be accompanied by National Unity Party (UBP) MP İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Fide Kürşat.
In his capacity as an observer member, Parliamentary Speaker Töre will deliver a speech representing the TRNC at the TÜRKPA General Assembly. Additionally, UBP MP İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra is expected to speak at the TÜRKPA Women’s Parliamentarians Group Meeting, while CTP MP Fide Kürşat will represent the TRNC at the TÜRKPA Young Parliamentarians Group Meeting.
The delegation’s departure from the TRNC to Baku is scheduled for this evening.
