The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre attended the “Achievers of the Year” award ceremony organized by the Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association (KTSYD).
Delivering a short speech here, Töre praised the athletes for their achievements despite the embargoes and isolations enforced against the country.
Addressing the audience who attended the Achievers of the Year award ceremony the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre said that although the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is being subjected to embargoes and isolation in the field of sports, the Turkish Cypriot youth has achieved sporting success in every field.
He noted that if there were no embargoes or isolations, the youth would achieve much greater success.
Praising the Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association for its facilities, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly also commemorated the Champion Angels.
Referring to sporting experiences in the past, Töre stated that South Cyprus has resorted to every means to prevent the TRNC from becoming more visible.
Töre said that the TRNC exists and will continue to exist in every field.brt
