As part of celebrations marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the second stage of the 14th International Republic Classic Car Rally was successfully held.
The rally, organized under the auspices of the North Cyprus Classic and Sports Automobile Club and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Promotion Department, commenced in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu officially started the rally and expressed gratitude to the club for organizing the event annually despite various challenges.
Speaking to the press, Ertuğruloğlu commended the resilience and dedication of the organizers, emphasizing the rally’s significance in promoting the TRNC internationally.
The President of the North Cyprus Classic and Sports Automobile Club Akın Demirağ highlighted the international dimension of the rally, noting the participation of vehicles from Germany, Istanbul, Ankara Classic Automobile Club (five cars), Mersin Classic Automobile Club (one car), and five cars from Türkiye’s Mercedes-Benz Club.
Promotion Department Director Bahar Öztay extended thanks to the club for adding vibrancy to the TRNC’s anniversary celebrations through this international event.
The rally concluded in Esentepe, where President Ersin Tatar attended the awards ceremony.
In his address, President Tatar emphasized the rally’s dual significance as a sports event and a platform for fostering camaraderie, friendship, and solidarity among participants.
He underlined the importance of promoting the TRNC through such international events and expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants.
