The “Turkic World Culture Festival,” organized by Istanbul Medipol University’s International Relations and Foreign Policy Club, was held at the university’s Kavacık Campus.
The festival aimed to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic world, raise cultural awareness among students, and preserve and pass on cultural values to future generations.
Representatives from eight different countries participated in the event.
In addition to cultural booths representing each Turkic country, the festival featured traditional dance performances and games presented to the attendees.
In his opening speech, Sherzod Abdunazarov, Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, expressed great honor at being part of the festival adding “We are members of a great family of 300 million people living across a vast geography from Central Asia to the Balkans. If we act together, we will shine like a star in the world. Let us not forget, strength arises from unity. Long live the brotherhood of the Turkic world”.
Ülkü Alemdar, Consul General of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Istanbul, also emphasized that the festival celebrated shared culture and strengthened the bonds of brotherhood.
“Seeing young people from all across our spiritual geography, Eurasia, coming to Türkiye for education gives us, as the TRNC, hope and pride. This event is not just a festival, but also a reflection of our strengthened brotherhood and our desire to build a common future,” she said.
Alemdar also highlighted that the Turkic world has endured throughout history with its culture, solidarity, perseverance, and the Turkish spirit.
“I believe that with your efforts, one day the member states of the Organization of Turkic States will add ‘Turkic Day’ to their list of national holidays, and May 3rd will be celebrated simultaneously as a national holiday across all brotherly nations,” she added.
