The National Unity Party (UBP) represented the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at the International conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP).
85 political party leaders and MPs from 35 countries came together at the meeting, and UBP MPs Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and Ahmet Savaşan had the opportunity to convey the Cyprus issue to their counterparts.
Members of the National Unity Party (UBP), Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and Ahmet Savaşan, recently attended the International Conference of Asian Political Parties in Phnom Penh.
This marked the first time a political party from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was represented at the conference.
The UBP stated that Hasipoğlu and Savaşan used this opportunity to discuss the Cyprus issue with their counterparts.
They emphasized that the demand for sovereignty, equality, and equal international status by the Turkish Cypriot people is legitimate.
The deputies highlighted the Greek Cypriot Administration’s uncompromising attitude and tendency to evade dialogue.
They argued that Türkiye’s presence as a Guarantor power brought peace to the island.
During their visit, Hasipoğlu and Savaşan also met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and engaged with representatives from various countries. brt
