The UN secretary general has invited the leaders of the two communities in Cyprus to an informal tripartite meeting in October, in New York, to exchange views on the course of the Cyprus problem, UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric has said.
The two leaders, Dujarric said, accepted the invitation.
Dujarric said on Monday that the date of the informal meeting between the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot side, in the presence of the secretary general will be announced soon.
He added that during his recent bilateral meetings in New York, the UN chief invited the leaders of the two communities to an informal tripartite.
