Initiated by the United States and the Republic of Cyprus, an informational meeting will take place next Wednesday to brief the delegations of UN member states on the “Amalthea” plan.
According to our information, the United States mission to the United Nations has extended an invitation to the permanent missions at the UN for a briefing regarding the implementation of the “Amalthea” plan, which aims to transfer humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
Leading the informational meeting from the side of the Republic of Cyprus will be the permanent representative to the UN, Maria Michail, and from the American side, the National Security Council’s person in charge at the White House, Curtis Reed, who will be accompanied by two other American officials.
The related invitation notes that on March 21st, the Republic of Cyprus organised an international meeting on the humanitarian corridor for aid transfer to Gaza, which was attended by United Nations agencies and government representatives from 35 countries, including the USA.
