We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics,’ company says
Telecommunications company C Spire has withdrawn all its advertising from the Paris Olympics over the Last Supper parody during the opening ceremony of the multi-sport event. The controversial act, which Christian groups say was offensive, involved drag queens and dancers.
“We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics,” C Spire posted on X on Saturday. “C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics.”
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves publicly supported C Spire’s decision. “I am proud to see the private sector in Mississippi step up and put their foot down. God will not be mocked. C Spire drew a common-sense, appropriate line,” he said.
