Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also reacted to the post made by the Israeli Foreign Minister.
Üstel said “The statement made by the Israeli Foreign Minister is incompatible with both diplomacy and international law.”
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel issued a written statement regarding the post shared by the Israeli Foreign Minister.
In his statement, Prime Minister Üstel said: “The remarks directed at our country and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are clearly provocative and a distortion of facts.”
Üstel noted that the fact that Israeli officials repeatedly bring up President Erdoğan’s name in their statements demonstrates how powerful a leader he is in the conscience of the world and affirms the impact of the truths he brings to light.
Üstel said: “The Israeli administration, especially the Netanyahu government, is accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity; and there are calls for it to be tried in international courts. One of the strongest advocates of this call is President Erdoğan.”
Üstel stated that the Israeli government’s attacks in Gaza targeting children, women, and civilians represent a disgraceful scene in front of the eyes of the modern world.
“It is sheer hypocrisy for representatives of a regime that bombs hospitals and schools with warplanes, tramples on the fundamental right to life, to try to speak in the name of morality and law,” he said.
Üstel emphasized that Erdoğan’s stance against Israel’s oppression is not only the voice of Türkiye, but also of all people with a conscience.
He affirmed that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue to stand firmly behind this honorable stance and on the side of justice. brt
