Üstel speaks at UBP Girne District Office

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stressed that the government will continue to enhance the welfare of the Turkish Cypriot people with new initiatives.

Announcing that companies employing TRNC citizens will receive an 80% premium subsidy, Üstel highlighted that this step will facilitate employment opportunities for TRNC citizens.

Prime Minister Üstel also stated that they place great importance on infrastructure projects, adding, “We will complete all roads that have been pending since 2013, one by one.”

The leader of the National Unity Party (UBP) and Prime Minister, Ünal Üstel, shared the government’s new initiatives during a well-attended meeting at the UBP Girne District Office.

Announcing that institutions and organizations employing even a single TRNC citizen will receive an 80% social security premium subsidy, Üstel stated, “With this, our TRNC citizens will find employment opportunities more easily. We don’t just talk, we take action. We are dedicating all our energy to working for our people.”

Drawing attention to the investments made in the Girne region, the Premier highlighted that new grass fields had been built in Taşkent, Dikmen, Dağyolu, Akdeniz, and Pınarbaşı, with some still under construction.

He also noted that the infrastructure and heating systems of the Ertuğrul Apakan Sports Hall and the Taekwondo Sports Facility had been renovated.

Providing information about completed and ongoing road projects, Üstel stressed that steps were being taken to gradually alleviate traffic congestion in the Girne region.

Stating that a large portion of the Alsancak – Lapta road had been completed, construction of the Çatalköy road had begun, and work on the mountain road would commence soon, the Premier reaffirmed the commitment to completing all roads that have been pending since 2013.

He also announced that the long-awaited new hospital for the people of Girne will be available soon.

“We will complete our new hospital by the end of this year. Along with the military hospital we have opened for public use, we will have two hospitals. At the same time, renovation work at the Lapta Health Centre will be completed in a short period” Üstel said.
