A yellow warning for rain and isolated thunderstorms, valid from 01.00 am on Monday until 01.00 am on Tuesday was issued by the Department of Meteorology on Sunday evening.
“A combination of rain and isolated thunderstorms will affect the island at times. In storm hail is likely while surface wind will be variable strengthening” the warning noted.
“Precipitation rate is expected to range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, while total precipitation is likely to locally exceed the amount of 55 millimeters within 24 hours” it concluded.
