The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong winds at the coastal areas.
It says that fresh to strong and at times strong to near gale westerly to northwesterly winds force 5 to 6 and at times 6 to 7 Beaufort will be affecting the western and locally the southern and northern coastal areas.
The state of sea will be locally moderate over the southern parts and over the western and northern parts rough.
It says that weak high pressure is affecting the area. Initially isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected mainly over the western and northern parts while after noon the weather will become mainly fine.
The visibility will be good to moderate, locally poor. The sea surface temperature will be 18°C.
