TRNC joins Judges Council Network at senior level

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has officially launched the Judges Council Network, aimed at strengthening judicial cooperation, professional development, and legal dialogue among member states.

At the meeting hosted by Azerbaijan’s Judicial and Legal Council and Supreme Court President Inam Kerimov, judiciary leaders from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) took part.

President of the Supreme Court, Bertan Özerdağ, participated in a series of events held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, upon the invitation of the Azerbaijani Legal Council.

As part of the two-day events, Supreme Court President Özerdağ delivered a speech at the panel titled “Global Challenges in Judicial Administration.”

Özerdağ also participated in the signing ceremony of the newly adopted charter, which formalizes multilateral cooperation on ethics training, legal research, and shared judicial values.

Fuzuli Aydoğdu, Deputy Chair of Türkiye’s Council of Judges and Prosecutors, emphasized the goal of making the Turkic world’s justice vision globally visible, while Kerimov highlighted the move as a step toward institutionalized legal collaboration.

Justice Özerdağ’s involvement marks a significant step for the TRNC’s inclusion in regional legal frameworks, reinforcing its commitment to judicial excellence and cross-border cooperation.
