
The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı announced that smart signal systems will be installed at the Dikmen and Ağırdağ junctions located on the Lefkoşa-Girne divided highway.
He stated that this new system is expected to eliminate the risk of accidents in the area.
In addition to the existing signal systems at the Ağırdağ and Dikmen junctions on the Lefkoşa-Girne divided highway, an additional protocol has been signed at the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation for the installation of two new smart traffic signal systems.
Minister Arıklı noted that the total cost of the smart signal system project is 3 million Turkish Lira.
He explained that the system will include a smart control unit, field cabinet, smart cameras and traffic density monitoring cameras.
The materials have already been ordered, and unless any unexpected issues arise, the smart signal systems are expected to be operational by the end of July. brt
