Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality (LAÇ) President Fırat Ataser announced on his social media account that they will take an important step regarding recycling efforts in the district.
Ataser stated that they will begin a domestic waste sorting project in cooperation with the Kak-Sad Association and the European Union (EU). The project will be implemented in the pilot area of the selected Karşıyaka village, involving 67 households, as well as all schools and municipal service buildings within the municipality’s borders.
President Ataser, saying “Together, we will achieve firsts,” invited the local community to support this important project.
Ataser’s statement is as follows: “We are preparing for a big step regarding one of our country’s biggest issues, recycling. In collaboration with the Kak-Sad Association and the EU, we are launching a project for the sorting of domestic waste (O) in our municipality. Last week, I shared about the establishment of a collection point, and parallel to that, we will implement the project in the selected pilot area of Karşıyaka village with 67 households, as well as in all schools and municipal service buildings within our municipality. The most important aspect of this project is education and raising awareness. During the education process, we will visit all 67 households and explain the project and its implementation. We will apply the same method in our municipal buildings and schools. Just as we succeeded with the green waste project and became the first and only municipality in the country to implement the KOMPOS project, I am confident that we will succeed with this project together. We will achieve firsts together.”
