Appeal rejected in Adıyaman Court decision, says Champion Angels Association

Keeping the Champion Angels Alive Association has announced that the appeal against a ruling by the Adıyaman 3rd High Criminal Court in Turkey has been officially rejected.

In a written statement, the association expressed its continued commitment to seeking justice in the wake of the February 6, 2023 disaster, which they described as part of a “chain of immorality” that claimed the lives of their loved ones.

“This journey for justice, born from the profound pain of our loss, has entered a new phase today,” the statement read.

The association voiced deep disappointment over the rejection of the appeal, stating that the decision has severely shaken their faith in the justice system. Despite this setback, they emphasized their determination to continue: “Let it be known—this blow will not deter us. On the contrary, it has only strengthened our resolve.”

24 Turkish Cypriot children and 11 accompanying adults, who were in Adıyaman for a volleyball tournament killed when the earthquake struck in Febrary 2023.
