
The 9th Çamlıbel Culture and Arts Festival, organized in collaboration with Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality (LAÇ), the Çamlıbel Village Head (Muhtarlık), Çamlıbel Sports Club, and Çam-Sev, concluded with great enthusiasm.
The opening of the event, held at the Çamlıbel festival area, was attended by Girne District Governor Revin Gürler, Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Mayor Fırat Ataser, Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul, Member of Parliament Armağan Candan, and many art lovers.
In her opening speech, Çam-Sev Board Member Aycan Nuri stated that their aim is to preserve the historical, cultural, and natural heritage of the Çamlıbel region and pass it on to future generations.
Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Mayor Fırat Ataser emphasized that festivals are an important way to transmit a nation’s culture to future generations, expressing his happiness in bringing such socially enriching events to life. He also noted that this was the first time a night festival was organized in the area and thanked everyone who contributed to its preparation.
The festival featured performances by Cemal Boransel, known as the Master of the Seven Mountains, and the Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble.
The musical group Grup Otantik, who performed later that night, dedicated part of their concert to the late Erdinç Gündüz, who passed away the day before, continuing with a beloved song from the group Sıla 4 in his memory.
The first night of the festival concluded with a special Ahmet Kaya tribute concert performed by Mustafa Karabulut.
The festival also featured ceramics and pottery workshops, as well as stands offering food, drinks, and souvenirs reflecting Turkish Cypriot culture, and displays showcasing a wide variety of traditional clothing styles.
