Fire Warning from Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality: “Follow the Law, Prevent Disasters”

Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality issued a public warning via its social media account, drawing attention to the ban on open fires during the high-risk fire season.
In the announcement, the municipality referred to Article 5 of the Law No. 6/1979 on Combating Wildfires, emphasizing that burning grass, weeds, bushes, and branches is subject to official permission. It was also underlined that lighting any kind of open fire between May 1 and October 31 is strictly prohibited.
The statement warned that individuals who violate this law may face a fine of up to twice the minimum wage, up to one year in prison, or both penalties.
Additionally, the municipality noted that any damage caused to public or private property by an uncontrolled fire must be compensated by the person responsible for starting the fire.
The announcement concluded with a strong reminder: “Any unauthorized fire can lead to major disasters.”
Citizens were urged to avoid all fire-related activities that carry a risk of wildfire and to report any intentions to light fires to the appropriate authorities in advance.
