
President Ersin Tatar, who attended the 48th Term Reserve Officer, Sergeant Recruitment, and Contracted Non-Commissioned Officer and Private Oath-Taking Ceremony, delivered significant messages on the Cyprus issue.
Stressing that the Turkish Cypriot people had faced all kinds of attacks from the Greek Cypriot administration, the President stated that the motherland, Türkiye, always took into account the interests of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Tatar also underlined that any agreement on the Cyprus issue must be fair, lasting, and sustainable.

The oath-taking ceremony for the 48th Term Reserve Officers, Sergeant Recruitment, Non-Commissioned Officers and Private was held at the Gülseren Barracks in Gazimağusa.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the raising of the flags, accompanied by the National Anthem, followed by the introduction of the glorious Turkish Flag.
Then, the oath-taking ceremony was carried out.
Speaking on behalf of the recruits, Second Lieutenant Burak Yıldırım stressed that they were warriors ready to sacrifice their lives for their homeland and duty.
After the speech, commemorative plaques for the term were affixed to the logbooks, and awards were presented to the successful personnel.
In his speech, Commander of the Security Forces Major General İlker Görgülü stated that the young warriors joined the Security Forces Command five weeks ago and quickly adapted.
Highlighting that the oath-taking ceremony was the most sacred part of military service, Major General Görgülü addressed the families and stated, “You have entrusted your sons to us, and by taking their oaths, our warriors have become the assurance of the Turkish Cypriots. The doors of the Security Forces Command are always open to you.”
President Ersin Tatar, congratulating the young warriors and wishing them success in their national duties, stressed that the Turkish Cypriot people had fought hard for these lands.
Stressing that with the Cyprus Peace Operation on July 20, 1974, a new era begun on the island, bringing peace to the region, the President noted that the Security Forces Command was the guarantee of peace and tranquillity.

Addressing the Cyprus issue in his speech, Tatar stressed that the Turkish Cypriot people had withstood all attacks from the Greek Cypriot administration and that Türkiye had always stood by the Turkish Cypriot people.
Touching upon the Tekno-Fest 2025, he expressed his appreciation for the progress made in the National Defence Industry.
“Motherland Türkiye sees Cyprus as the heart of the blue homeland” Tatar stated and stressed that Türkiye always considered the interests of the TRNC.
President Tatar also reiterated that any agreement on the Cyprus issue must be fair, lasting, and sustainable.
The ceremony concluded with the reading of the Müjahid March and the formal parade.
