Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar has called on Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides to take immediate steps to open the Akıncılar ( Louroujina) –Lympia crossing point, saying he has been advocating for the move for over a year without receiving any response.

“What is Christodoulides still waiting for to open the crossing point?” Tatar asked during his speech at the 19th “Once Upon a Time in Louroujina” fair, organized by the Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality.
Tatar praised the cultural fair, which celebrates Cypriot heritage and art, and commended the organizers for their efforts. He emphasized the historical importance of the Akıncılar region and noted that many people originally from the area now live across the island and abroad.

He also urged the local population to raise their voices and push for the opening of the crossing, arguing that it is a matter of freedom of movement and community connection that should not be obstructed.
