“The 10th International Mediterranean Fired Clay Symposium has begun.”

The 10th International Mediterranean Fired Clay Symposium, which brings together the cultural heritage of the Mediterranean with the power of art, officially began yesterday under the hosting of the Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel (LAÇ) Municipality.

According to information provided by Ayhatun Ateşin, the symposium is organized by the Alashia Terracotta Art Collective, curated by Ayhatun Ateşin and coordinated by Vedia Okutan Gaydeler. The event is being held at the Mediterranean Open-Air Museum, where it welcomes art enthusiasts from all over.

The symposium brings together artists from Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey, who reinterpret the rich, layered history and cultural depth of the Mediterranean through the art of fired clay. While the artists create their works in open-air workshops, the resulting pieces will become permanent parts of the Open-Air Museum’s collection at the end of the symposium.

Group Exhibition “Archaic Reflections II” Opens

As part of the symposium, a group exhibition titled “Archaic Reflections II” will open to visitors tomorrow at 10:00 AM at the Mediterranean Open-Air Museum.

The exhibition opening will coincide with events from the traditional Ayrelli Festival, and will be open to the public.
