The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has sharply criticized the Greek Cypriot leadership over its growing military cooperation with Israel and accelerated armament program, calling the policy “irresponsible.”
In a statement, the CTP condemned the Greek Cypriot side’s pursuit of closer defence ties with Israel, accusing the government of aligning itself with a state responsible for the deaths of thousands of civilians in Gaza.
The party stressed that international law and human rights are being openly violated, and described the silence of major powers in the face of such attacks as unacceptable.
CTP further warned that forging an alliance with Israel not only ignores but effectively endorses attacks against the Palestinian people, calling the move a dangerous choice that risks undermining peace and stability on the island.
