
President Ersin Tatar stressed that the visibility and recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) had been increasing in today’s communication age.
During his meeting with representatives from Girne American University and Schools Group, as well as Girne College – one of the educational institutions operating in Türkiye – Tatar underlined the importance of Türkiye’s support for the TRNC.

The President highlighted that while many Turkish schools have invested in Cyprus, Girne College achieved a first by investing in 20 regions across Türkiye.
Stating that Turkish Cypriots had fought for existence and established their own state despite pressures and attacks, Tatar stressed that the support from the Turkish people – who share the same origin – is of utmost importance.
Reiterating that in the communication age, the visibility and recognition of the TRNC were growing, President Tatar noted that despite the turbulent regional context, the Turkish Cypriot state was founded and efforts to strengthen it were ongoing.
Chairman of the Girne College Board, Ümit Kalkoda, stated that for the first time, a school brand from the TRNC had opened schools in Türkiye and that new campuses would soon be established in Adana, Antalya, and Mersin.
